Vivian F. Mobbs, 90, of Alexandria, VA, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2013, after suffering from Alzheimer's disease for many years.
Mrs. Mobbs was born on December 26, 1922 in Sanford, NC. She moved to Washington, DC during WWII where she assembled wiring harnesses for military aircraft, and also worked for the U.S. Postal Service. In 1947, she married Harold Mobbs, of Greenbrier, AR; he predeceased her in 1995. She and Harold moved to Alexandria, VA in the early 1950's. After several years as a housewife, Mrs. Mobbs worked as a school bus driver for the Fairfax County, VA school system where she retired in 1991. She attended Calvary Road Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and gardening, loved to dance, and was known as someone who never met a stranger.
She is survived by a daughter, Faye Lee, and her husband, Ronald, of Springfield, VA; a granddaughter, Nancy Connor, and her husband, Roger; a great-granddaughter, Rebecca Connor, of Fairfax Station, VA; and a brother, Gene Fraley, of Sanford, NC. She was predeceased by her father, William Fraley, and mother, Geneva Stewart Fraley, as well as her brothers, Albert, Clyde, Harry, and her sister, Pauline.
A private funeral service was arranged by Cunningham Funeral Home, Alexandria, VA and she was laid to rest on Friday, December 20, 2013 at Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria, VA.
