Terry Gene Hanson, age 62, passed away on Christmas Day, December 25th, 2019 while visiting his grandchildren in Centreville, Virginia. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Pok Hanson, his twin brother, Gary Hanson of Millington, TN, his daughter and son-in-law Amy & Nicholas Schug, and his grandchildren, Ellie & Werner Schug Terry was born in Great Bend, Kansas where he joined the US Army at the age of 17. He was a disabled veteran who served through multiple combats and was a proud patriot of this country.
He is a long time resident of Phenix City, Alabama and is widely known as the first man who first brought affordable pager and cellular services (Com-Link Plus) to the small town as well as the first online gaming cafe with high speed internet (Phenix Computer World) in the mid-1990s. He made a promise to his community to help residents prepare for the Internet and the information technology world we live in today.
Terry was a charming, funny, genuine person, who was never short of humor, laughter and a helping hand. He was proudly dedicated to his community, country, family and friends. He left this world a better place and will always be remembered.
Burial services will be held on January 30th, 2020 at 11am on Fort Mitchell National Cemetery. We ask that you contact the family directly for additional information.
