Obituary

Ruth Ann Lutz Zwicky, passed away Dec. 22, 2018 at the age of 89 in Annandale, VA of natural causes.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, to Karl and Jenny Lutz, Ruth was raised in Glenolden, PA, went to GlenNor High School, and graduated from Drexel University.
Ruth moved the DC area after college and worked in retailing. She took a break from work to raise her children in Bethesda, MD with her then husband, Warren Zwicky. She retired from Brooks Brothers in 1995 and moved to Richmond VA, where she became very active in her church, Westhampton United Methodist. She was an avid reader, and loved art and the museums of DC.
She is survived by her children Eric (Emily), Karen (Philip) and Katherine (Patrick), and her grandchildren, Jenny, Giulia, Evan and Gina, and her great grandchild Josephine.
Ruth is most remembered for her zest for life, her ditzy sense of humor, her generosity, and her genuine smile and wonderful laugh. She so loved being with her family.
Memorial Service to be held at Westhampton United Methodist Church, 6100 Patterson Avenue. Richmond, VA 22326 January 5th, at 1:00pm. Reception to follow at the church.
Ruth’s favorite color was red. Please wear something with red in it, in her honor on that day.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made in her name to Children’s Future International http://www.childrensfuture.org/invest/ , a charity founded by her granddaughter Jenny Ciucci, which was near and dear to her heart. Please add Ruth’s name as the honoree.
