Mary enjoyed a full and active life growing up in the Utica, New York area. She also lived many years in Plattsburgh, NY where she worked for the Army Corps of Engineers and the Plattsburgh Air Force Base. She loved the Adirondacks where she enjoyed skiing in the winter and lots of beach time in the summer on Lake Champlain. From there she moved to New Orleans where she spent 15 years as a successful real estate agent. While in New Orleans she perfected her cooking skills, learned and loved to fish, and became an avid card player. In 1985, she moved to Alexandria to be close to her daughter, grandson and great-grandchildren, the joys of her life. She was a frequent babysitter to her great grandchildren when they young, and then a devoted fan at their swim meets, baseball and hockey games and cheerleading competitions.

She lived at the Morris Glen Senior Apartments in Alexandria for 13 years before moving to Braddock Glen. At Morris Glen she worked in the office until she was 90, organized and played cards 3 times a week and was a member of St. Lawrence Church in Franconia.
