Laura Ann Trope, 57, of Springfield, VA, passed away November 3, 2019 at home surrounded by loving family. Laura was born in Fairfax, VA on December 29, 1961 to John G. Snyder and the late Ann Snyder. A graduate of Radford University in 1984, Laura dedicated her life to being a stay-at-home mom for her children and volunteered and mentored in Christian faith-based organizations Young Life and Moms in Touch. Laura was a light to all; her joyful smile and loving heart will be greatly missed by family and friends.
She is survived by husband of 34 years, Jim Trope; daughter Michelle Khay and husband Saber; son James Trope, Jr. and wife Cathy; son John Trope; and grandchildren Owen Trope, Adam Khay, Zayd Khay, and baby Khay; father John G. Snyder and brother Robert D. Snyder and wife Tonya and sons Robbie, Jr. and Dylan; and special gratitude to sister-in-law Terry Snyder and cousin Peggy Bayne for their love and caregiving.
A celebration of Laura’s life will be held at Messiah United Methodist Church in Springfield on Thursday, November 7, 2019. Visitation with the family will begin at 10:30 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. Immediately following the service, a reception will be held at the Trope residence.
