Donald D. Steiner Passed Away on Tuesday March 20th at 55 years old.
He leaves behind his wife of over 30 years Blanca Robles and three children, Modesto Steiner Robles, Emmanuel Steiner Robles, and Crystal Gutierrez, as well as three grandchildren Sterling Gutierrez, Sebastian Robinson Gutierrez, and Trinity Robinson Gutierrez.
Donald studied and received a BA in German and a Fulbright Scholarship to the University of Tuebingen in Germany. Donald also holds a BS, MS, and PhD in mathematics from Iowa State University. Donald led research & development in applied cognitive systems technologies and developed one of the first cognitive cybersecurity products that transitioned fundamental research to the marketplace. Donald drove innovation and built teams of university researchers and small businesses. He has over 60 publications and over 10 inventions and patents in advanced analytics technologies. Prior to joining Northrop Grumman, Donald led research in intelligent-agents and multi-agent systems at Siemens Corporate Technology in Munich, Germany as well as other small high tech start-up companies in Texas and California.
He loved to travel, bicycle along the Potomac, and read science fiction books. He was a man who was always willing to help others without asking for a thing in return and never had anything bad to say about anyone. He always put the happiness of others before his own was forever patient with the people around him. He will be greatly missed.
